Peppers are one of the few things I’ve never liked. They have a strange
smell and a bitter taste I notice instantly. I still pick them out of
dishes without thinking — it’s a habit I’ve had since I was a kid.
Emotion
Peppers just have this… weird smell. Raw or cooked, it’s always there
— that sharp, earthy scent I instantly recognize and instantly want to
avoid. I don’t hate it passionately, but I also never enjoy it. Even
now, I still get a little annoyed when I find it hiding in my food.
Texture & Taste
It’s not the texture that bothers me most — it’s the flavor.
There’s a bitterness that lingers in a way I don’t like, and even a
tiny piece makes the whole dish taste like pepper.
If I’m in a really good mood, I might eat a small piece… but only
maybe.
Memory
As a kid, I could tell if a dish had pepper just by the smell — no
need to look.
My parents would try to sneak it into food “for the nutrition,” but I
always found it and picked it out. To me, pepper is the one vegetable
I grew up avoiding with confidence and skill.
How I eat with Apple
Most of the time, I’ll pick it out without hesitation. Sometimes, if
I’m in a good mood and there’s just a little, I might leave it in. But
I never choose it. It’s just… there. And I’m always hoping it’s not.
Peppers
aren’t welcome.
But they always sneak in — with that strange smell, bitter bite, and a
presence I can’t ignore.
